The latest assault across the Tasman

This from Working Life: As some people may know, John Howard's government is planning a fresh range of legislation aimed at weakening the powers of the unions in Australia, now that they have conrol of the Senate too. The article outlines some background info (very handy) to Australia's award system (similar to ours except for the ECA) and provides some info on what the proposed legislation is going to do.
